Deepavali celebration held at St Aloysius ITI

Deepavali was celebrated in St Aloysius ITI on October 30 at 3 pm in the college auditorium. The programme commenced with a prayer song which was led by MMV second year students.

The programme was presided over by Fr John D’Souza SJ, director of the institution. Dr Manjula Shetty, vice principal, Govt PU College, Montepadavu, Bantwal was the chief guest.

The chief guest addressed the gathering and said, “Deepavali, or Diwali, is the Festival of lights which is celebrated for three days. Light chases away darkness and lights our path. Light is a symbol of knowledge. During Deepavali, homes are cleaned, decorated with lanterns or Diyas. Let’s all celebrate Deepavali with the spirit of joy and love for our fellow beings”.

A song was rendered by the students to spread the joy of Deepavali. On the occasion of Deepavali lantern, group singing and Rangoli competitions were organized. The prizes of the competitions were announced.

Ist Prize – Fashion Design 2nd year

IIIrd Prize – Electronics Mechanic 2nd year

In his presidential, address Fr John D’Souza SJ said, “Deepavali helps us light up our hearts with kindness, compassion, and gratitude. Let us be the light that drives away ignorance, hatred, and division. Let us come together in the spirit of unity and spread love and joy, not only in our homes but throughout our communities and beyond.”

Mohammed Ashwan, student of MMV second year proposed a vote of thanks. The programme was compered by Akvil, student of MMV second year.
