Mangaluru, Jan 28: An awareness regarding the constitution, ‘Constitution Day’ programme was organized on January 27, 2020, at St Aloysius ITI Auditorium.
The programme commenced by briefly giving a message on the constitution by Fr Cyril D’Mello SJ director, Roshan D’Souza principal, welcomed the guest Fr Francis Assissi D’Almeida, director Sandesha, Mangaluru. Alwyn Menezes, vice-principal, Neol Lobo training officer, were present on the dais.
On this occasion, the guest of the day gave a talk on the Constitution of India. The Constitution of India is the supreme law of India. The document lays down the framework demarcating fundamental political code, structure, procedures, powers, and duties of government institutions and set out fundamental rights, directive principles, and the duties of citizens.
Three branches of the constitution are executive, legislative and judiciary. The constitution declares India a sovereign, socialist, secular, democratic republic, assuring its citizens’ justice, equality and liberty as present in the preamble. He also gave brief information on CAA (Citizen Amendment Act), NRC (National Register Citizen) and NPR (Nation Population Register).
Noel Lobo training officer proposed the vote of thanks. Robin Vas, junior training officer compered the programme.
The programme was concluded by National Anthem.
