The inauguration of the Leo Club at St Aloysius Industrial Training Institute took place on September 27, at 10:30 am in the college auditorium.
Leo Bavish Poojari set the tone for the event as the host of the day. The program was presided over by Lion Sheena Poojari, President of the Lions Club Mangaluru. The installation officer for the day was Leo Lion Kavan Kubeyvoor, Mjf, Multiple GLT coordinator MD 317, and IPDLP District 3173. The distinguished guests included Leo Dr Ranjita Shetty, District Leo president, and Roshan D’Souza, Principal of St Aloysius ITI. The program received the blessings of director of St. Aloysius ITI, Fr John D’Souza SJ, and Queenson D’Costa, district vice president.
Leo Privisha Shainy D’Souza escorted the dignitaries and past Leo Presidents to the stage. Past Leo President Leo Staron called the meeting to order. The program commenced with a prayer service conducted by Leo Aflal and his team, followed by the Leo flag salutation led by Lion Narayan. Leo Shashank N recited the Leo pledge, and Past Leo President Leo Staron welcomed the gathering with floral offerings.
Leo Abdul Waris introduced the new PSTs to the audience, and Leo Privisha introduced the installing officer, Leo Lion Kavan Kubeyvoor, Mjf. In his address, Lion Kavan Kubeyvoor emphasized the responsibilities of Leo Club members, stressing the importance of selfless service. He encouraged everyone to engage in charitable deeds without expecting anything in return and appreciated the club’s work.
The installation ceremony began with Leo Lion Kavan Kubeyvoor, Mjf, explaining the duties of the Leo Board of Directors. Each member agreed to their roles by raising their right hand. The social media incharge, Leo Renal, Leadership Chairperson, Leo Danish, and Service Coordinator, Leo Varun Lobo, were introduced, and they signed their agreement by raising their right hands. Vice President Leo Ankit and Treasurer Leo Privisha Shainy D’Souza, along with Joint Treasurer Leo Mahesh, accepted their roles by raising their right hands. Secretary Leo Winston D’Souza and Joint Secretary Leo Daksh P Shetty did the same. The President, the key figure of the club, also agreed to his responsibilities and raised his right hand.
The new PST members were then invited to the stage, where the past PST exchanged pins with them. Together with the dignitaries, the new Leo team lit a diya symbolizing a new beginning. The new President delivered an acceptance speech, followed by the outgoing President’s speech.
A felicitation ceremony was conducted by the Club Leo Advisor, Lion Wilson N. During the ceremony, Leo Lion Kavan Kubeyvoor, Mjf, Leo Ranjitha Shetty, Lion Sheena Pujary, Roshan D’Souza, and Fr John D’Souza SJ were honored for their unwavering support and dedication.
Following this, Fr John D’Souza SJ, President of the Lions Club Mangaluru, Lion Sheena Pujary, District Leo President Leo Dr Ranjitha Shetty, and Principal of SAITI Roshan D’Souza addressed the gathering. They congratulated the new team and pledged their support, emphasizing their responsibilities.
As the program concluded, Leo Winston D’Souza, the Secretary, proposed the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all for their hard work and support. The dignitaries were also thanked by presenting them with momentos as tokens of appreciation.
