St Aloysius ITI hosts Aloysius Champion Trophy Inter-Trade Cricket 2025

St Aloysius Industrial Training Institute successfully organised the Aloysius Champion Trophy – Inter Trade Cricket Match 2025 on December 30 and 31 at the St Aloysius PU College Ground, witnessing spirited participation from students across various trades.

The two-day tournament commenced at 9.00 am each day and was marked by discipline, enthusiasm, and exemplary sportsmanship, reflecting the institute’s focus on holistic student development through co-curricular engagement.

Inaugural ceremony and dignitaries

The programme began with a prayer song, seeking blessings for the smooth conduct of the tournament, followed by a warm welcome to the dignitaries. The inaugural function was presided over by Rev. Fr John D’Souza SJ, Director, St Aloysius ITI, Mangaluru.

Renowned cricketer Mr Arshad Bajal graced the occasion as Chief Guest and encouraged students to actively participate in sports alongside their academic and technical pursuits. Also present on the dais were Mr Roshan D’Souza (Principal), Mr Alwyn Menezes (Vice Principal), Mr Noel Lobo and Mr Wilson N (Training Officers), Mr Melvin D’Souza (Convener), and Mr Rivan D’Souza (President, Student Council).

The tournament was formally inaugurated by the dignitaries, followed by the opening trial match initiated by the Chief Guest, marking the official commencement of the championship.

Competitive matches and fair play

Matches were conducted over two days in a competitive yet friendly spirit. The smooth conduct of the tournament was ensured by the dedicated efforts of umpires Mr Sonal, Mr Royston, Mr Aidol, Mr Anston, Mr Sujal, and Mr Noel, whose fair judgment contributed to the success of the event.

The tournament fostered unity, teamwork, and healthy competition among students, reinforcing the values of discipline and mutual respect.

  • Winners (ITI Trades): RACT – 2nd Year
  • Runners-up (ITI Trades): EL – 2nd Year
  • Diploma Category Winners: HVAC Trade
  • Man of the Match:
    • Mr Nihal (RACT – 2nd Year)
    • Mr Vivek (EL – 2nd Year)

The Aloysius Champion Trophy 2025 concluded on a high note, standing as a testament to St Aloysius ITI’s commitment to nurturing well-rounded individuals through sports and teamwork.
