Entrepreneurship programme held at St. Aloysius ITI

Mangaluru: Rachana, an association of entrepreneurs in Mangaluru, conducted an Entrepreneurship Information Programme for the students of St. Aloysius ITI at the institution, on March 16.

The purpose of the programme was to motivate the young minds to take up entrepreneurship. Stany Alvares, President, Rachana; Louis J. Pinto, Convener, Rachana Entrepreneurship Development Cell; Rev. Fr. Eric Mathias SJ, Director of St. Aloysius ITI, were present on the occasion.

Sathish Maben was the main resource person for the programme. Speaking on the occasion, Stany Alvares said, “Rachana has been in existence for the past 19 years and is actively involved in motivating the youth towards entrepreneurship since 4 years. We are conducting entrepreneurship programmes all over the district and inspiring the youth to take up self employment and thus, generate employment in addition to creating a financially rewarding future.”

Resource person Sathish Maben explained the qualities required in a person to be an entrepreneur. He also elaborated on the facilities provided by the central and state governments to start a firm and the procedures to be followed. Interacting with the students, Louis Pinto said, “A person will not become an entrepreneur just by attending the programme. He needs to have a dream to be an entrepreneur and Rachana will help in realising that dream.”

Principal of the institution Vincent Mendonsa extended a hearty welcome to everyone. U Kiran, Convener of the programme was also present.
