St Aloysius Industrial training institute holds inter-trade cricket tournament

Inter-trade Cricket Tournament was held on December 27 at 8:30 am in St Aloysius College Centenary ground. The cricket match was held for 14 teams. The chief guest was Naveen Rasquinha, president – St Aloysius ITI former student association, Fr John Dsouza S J – director was the president, Roshan Dsouza – principal, Alwyn Menezes – vice principal, Noel Lobo – training officer, Avinash Loy Dcunha – president, student council, Rayan James D’Souza – sports secretary, Manjunath Rao – staff convener, Rony Dcunha – student convener were present.

The tournament began with a prayer song. The inauguration was done by unveiling the trophies by the chief guest.

The chief guest addressed the gathering by saying that “Students have got a good opportunity of showing their interest in the sports field. Winning is not important, participation is important.” He wished all the teams all the best. The chief guest tossed the coin for the first match.

Liyana Sweedal Pinto, student of Electronics Mechanic 1st year proposed the vote of thanks. The programme was compered by Mahammed Afeel, student of MRAC 1st year.

Electronics Mechanic 2nd year and MMV 2nd year were selected for the finals. The commentators for the tournament were Mahammed Afeel, student of MRAC 1st year and Nazil, student of Plumber trade.

The results of the match are as follows

Winners – Electronics Mechanic 2nd year

Runners – MMV 2nd year

Best batsman – Mohammed Raif, MMV 2nd year

Best bowler – Alister Pinto, MMV 2nd year

Man of the series – Rayan James Dsouza, Electronics Mechanic 2nd year

Man of the match – Babul Sharma, Electronics Mechanic 2nd year
