INAUGURATION OF ACADEMIC YEAR 2017-18

The Inauguration of the academic year 2017-18 was done with grandeur. The Chief Guest of the function was Mr J.R. Lobo-M.L.A., Mangalore South Constituency and presided over by the Rector of St Aloysius College Institutions-Rev Fr Dionysius Vaz SJ. In the beginning, the renovated/ upgraded workshops and facilities were blessed by the Rector. These were inaugurated by the Chief Guest. In the stage programme that followed, the Chief Guest Mr J.R. Lobo was felicitated for his remarkable service to the society. Addressing the students he said, “Make use of the quality training given by this renowned institution and get employed. But, once employed, don’t stop your education. Have an aim to achieve higher education in your field along with your job. You may think of continuing education through institutions which conduct evening batches.” Ms Shaestha Siddiqui, a student of St Aloysius P.U. College was felicitated by the dignitaries for exhibiting bravery in confronting the person who tried to molest her in a public place. Birthday of the Rector was also celebrated by cutting a cake on the occasion and the students greeted him with flowers. Students presented a fascinating multi-coloured cultural show built on a theme “Unity in Diversity”. Mr Roshan Dsouza-Vice Principal proposed vote of thanks. Other dignitaries on the dais were Rev Fr Alwyn Veigus, Rev Fr Eric Mathias SJ-Director of the institution, Mr Romius Dsouza- Training Officer. The programme was concluded with the National Anthem. After the programme, arrangement was made for the parents/guardians of the students to meet the respective teachers.
