Teacher’s Day & New Harvest Festival Celebration

Teacher’s Day and Feast of Nativity of Blessed Virgin Mary (New Harvest Festival)was celebrated in the institution. Students had taken the initiative and organised the programme. On the previous day, lucky games were conducted for teachers and staff members.
On the day of celebration, a stage programme had been organised. Mr Diwakar Shetty, H.O.D- Mechanical Department of SNS Polytechnic , Sunkadakatte was the Honourable Chief Guest. Mr Marvin Cutinho of MMV trade welcomed the gathering. Mr Dhanush of MMV trade gave a speech on the importance of teacher’s day and New Harvest Festival. Addressing the gathering, the Chief Guest said, “A teacher is a person who builds the nation. One of the important qualities he/she possesses is forgiveness. He corrects the student when he wanders out of the way, guides him and strives to mould him into a capable person. Students should honour the teachers, not only on the Teacher’s Day, but every day of their life. Every action of the teacher is aimed towards the betterment of the students”. Prizes were distributed to the staff members who had won in the games. Students greeted their beloved teachers and staff members with flower bouquets. Mr Nihal- a student of the MRAC trade was felicitated for his achievement in the field of Karate. Mr Adolf Rodrigues of MMV trade proposed vote of thanks. Other dignitaries on the dais were Mr Vincent Mendonsa- Principal , Mr Romius Dsouza- Training Officer and Mr Roshan Dsouza – Vice Principal. Mr Rayan Dsouza compered the programme. Students put up a colourful cultural show. Fellowship meal had been arranged for all and sugar canes were distributed.
