U T Khader was honoured during the event. Chief guest U T Khader addressed the gathering by saying, “I am happy to inaugurate the international standard skill verification centre today. For the past 44 years, this institution has been providing training to economically underprivileged students and has made a valuable contribution to the people of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts. Today, the IIT institution is awarding internationally recognised skill assessment certificates. I hope this institution becomes a trustworthy centre for the public. The youth are bringing pride to India today. There are many opportunities available for students who have received ITI training to secure employment. Therefore, patience and dedication play a very important role in student’s lives.”

In his presidential address, Fr Melwyn Pinto SJ said, “Today’s event may be small, but the step taken by this institution is a significant one. The students currently undergoing training at this institution should secure employment and must come forward to help other students as well. With the support of ITI-trained students, industries and the nation of India can achieve development.”

Thrisha, a staff member, gave the vote of thanks, and Robin Vas, a Junior Training Officer, was the host of the event. The programme ended with the National Anthem.
